Job description
Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We’ve got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that’s alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.
About the Role
Do you have physical security experience and a knack for creative problem-solving and a desire to make an impact? If so, this role is for you. We are seeking a sharp and driven physical security professional to join Verkada's lean but mean Global Security Team.
This role would entail developing, implementing, and overseeing security programs for company-related events, ranging from smaller field events to large company and third-party conferences. In this role, you'll partner closely with the marketing and events team to translate event plans into appropriate security requirements, and attend events to ensure plans are implemented. You'll also work within the protective services team in our global security function outside the event calendar, driving insider threat and threat intelligence programs as well as supporting executive protection. This role is a mix of proactive planning and on-the-ground execution, and suits someone who's equally comfortable building a security plan from scratch, stepping in to run daily operations, and traveling to supervise event security. If you enjoy building from the ground up, this role is for you!
While Verkada HQ is located in San Mateo,CA we are open to both in-office or remote candidates and candidate must be willing to travel.
What You'll Do
• Partner with the marketing and events team early in planning to scope security requirements and assess risk for internal, customer-facing, and executive-attended events.
• Build and execute end-to-end security plans, including site assessments, guard and vendor staffing, and credentialing/access plans.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact before, during, and after events to manage issues in real time.
• Travel to supervise on-site security for events and support physical security operations at Verkada locations, as needed.
• Support daily physical security operations, including access administration, investigations, and incident response.
• Conduct ongoing security audits to identify and close gaps in physical security coverage at remote locations.
• Coordinate with the executive protection and physical security team on operations outside of the event calendar.
• Monitor internal and external threats to identify and assess potential threats.
• Produce threat briefs ahead of high-profile events, executive travel, or company announcements that draw attention.
What You Bring
• 3-5+ years of experience in corporate or physical security, ideally with direct experience planning security for corporate events, VIP visits, or high-profile gatherings.
• Comfort managing both live events and daily physical security operations.
• Ability to turn vague or incomplete requirements into a solid, actionable security plan.
• Strong communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders, from event planners to executives to on-site security guards.
• Calm, detail-oriented execution under pressure, especially with credentialing and vendor logistics.
• Experience with access control and video security systems is a plus.
• Relevant certification (PSP, CPP, or similar) is a nice-to-have, not required.
