Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer / Interior Design Lead to lead and coordinate the interior design activities for a major airport terminal expansion and modification project. The role will be responsible for developing and delivering interior design solutions from concept, Detailed Design (DD) through Good for Construction (GFC), ensuring design quality, functionality, passenger experience, constructability, and compliance with applicable airport and statutory requirements.
The candidate should have strong experience in large-scale transportation, airport, commercial, hospitality, or complex public buildings, with the ability to manage multiple design interfaces and coordinate effectively with Architecture, MEP, Structural, BIM, Fire & Life Safety, signage, specialist consultants, and client/airport stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the Interior Design package from Detailed Design through GFC and construction/tender documentation.
· Develop interior design concepts, design development, material palettes, finishes, ceiling systems, flooring, wall treatments, feature elements, furniture and other interior components.
· Translate approved design intent into detailed, coordinated and constructible design documentation.
· Prepare and review:
· Interior Design plans and layouts
· Reflected Ceiling Plans
· Flooring and finish plans
· Interior elevations and sections
· Wall/ceiling details
· Feature wall and architectural details
· Joinery and millwork details
· Furniture layouts and schedules
· Material and finish schedules
· Interior signage coordination
· Tender/GFC drawings and specifications
· Coordinate interior design requirements with Architecture, Structural, MEP, HVAC, Electrical, PHE, Fire & Life Safety, BIM and specialist consultants.
· Ensure interior layouts are compatible with airport operational requirements, passenger circulation, security screening, immigration, check-in, baggage handling, lounges, retail/F&B and other terminal functions.
· Coordinate with BCAS/aviation security requirements, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility requirements and relevant statutory codes, as applicable to the project.
· Develop and review detailed material specifications, performance requirements, samples, mock-ups and finish schedules.
· Review and resolve design coordination issues and ensure that interior design information is aligned across all disciplines.
· Lead BIM coordination and ensure appropriate LOD, model quality and drawing/model consistency.
· Review shop drawings, material submissions, technical submittals and RFIs during construction, where required.
· Participate in client, stakeholder and design coordination meetings and present design proposals and technical solutions.
· Manage design comments, review cycles and closure of interdisciplinary/client comments.
· Support preparation of BOQ, specifications, tender documentation and cost-related design information.
· Ensure design deliverables meet project programme, quality standards and agreed submission requirements.
· Identify design risks, interface issues and potential variations at an early stage and coordinate appropriate mitigation.
· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior interior designers and coordinate the wider interior design team.

Qualifications
Desired Experience
· 10–15 years of professional experience, preferably with significant experience in large-scale airport/transportation projects.
· Experience in airport terminal interiors will be strongly preferred.
· Experience working on projects through Concept/Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Tender and GFC stages.
· Strong understanding of complex public-building interiors, passenger movement, operational requirements and high-traffic environments.
· Experience coordinating with international/local architects, specialist consultants, contractors and client representatives.
· Experience in multidisciplinary BIM-based design environments.
Software Skills
Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software such as:
· AutoCAD
· Revit / BIM
· SketchUp / 3D modelling tools
· Adobe Creative Suite
· MS Office
Knowledge of BIM coordination and model review platforms will be an advantage.
