Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea: the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house. The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it.

About the Role

Redwood Materials is looking for a Global Supply Manager to source and own supplier relationships, support new product development and manufacturing. This role will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing to execute our mechanicals roadmap. The primary scope of this role is injection molded plastics, stamped components, fasteners, connectors and harnesses.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end RFx processes — scoping requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating responses, and driving supplier selection to award.

• Build and maintain should-cost models for mechanical components including plastics, stampings, fasteners, connectors and harnessing

• Negotiate piece price, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements

• Own the commercial relationship with key suppliers — tracking performance, managing escalations, and building the trust needed to move fast when it matters.

• Drive supplier readiness across NPI, production ramp, and sustained manufacturing while thinking about cost, capacity planning, and lead time management

• Present clear recommendations to engineering and executive stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

• Background in sourcing mechanical components with exposure to injection molding, stamping, harness assembly and managing off the shelf components like fasteners

• Core understanding of manufacturing cost drivers for custom components an tooling

• 1-3+ years sourcing experience in a similar role

• Strong excel and spreadsheet skills

• Strong project management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Flexible mindset and temperament.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Average 25% travel

Preferred Skills

• Experience with custom part development

• Strong record of applying first principles thinking toward supplier negotiations.

• Capable of managing successful escalations up to the executive level within a supplier.

• Experience with MRP/ERP systems

In accordance with California pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skills.

California Pay Range:
$112,500—$147,500 USD

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
