Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About the Team
Platform Engineering & Integration (PEI) is the Chief Engineering integration function that brings strong subsystems together into a deployable platform. PEI owns the seams: platform architecture coherence, cross-domain interfaces, integration risk, verification strategy, configuration maturity and readiness evidence across multiple autonomous airpower programs. The Platform Integration pillar owns the integration roadmap and its sequencing, the integration environments, the integrated build, and readiness for test and flight. We treat laboratories and rigs as capacity, not only as usage, and the most valuable thing we can say about any environment is what it actually proves and, explicitly, what it does not.

About the Role
You will engineer and integrate on the lab fleet behind our flagship autonomous air vehicle: software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop rigs for vehicle management, flight controls and mission systems, plus an iron bird with hydraulics, loaded actuation and power. Every software release, mission systems integration and flight-test preparation runs through these rigs, and the rigs are being designed, brought up and put to work at the same time.

This is an individual-contributor engineering role. You will work for the Lab & Integration Lead alongside lab technicians, own specific rigs and lab subsystems end to end, and spend most of your time between the design tools, the bench and the integration floor. You will be trusted with real design and integration decisions early, and you will be expected to close them.

What You’ll Do

• Engineer the rigs. Develop and maintain rig designs within the lab architecture: block diagrams, rack and power layouts, network design, harness definitions and pin-to-pins, and rig interface control documents (rig-to-LRU, rig-to-sim, rig-to-ground-station). Review build drawings and work instructions before material is released.

• Bring rigs up. Plan and lead bring-up of the rigs you own: safe-to-mate, power-on and BIT, LRU checkout, network and time-sync verification, and host/sim reference-scenario runs. Work the readiness checklist to closure before a rig is declared operational.

• Own the HITL host and simulation integration. Integrate the real-time host, I/O, plant models and simulation with flight hardware. Characterize latency and timing, check simulation behaviour against reference data, and document what each rig can and cannot be used to show.

• Integrate on the rigs. Run integration for software releases and new hardware on the rigs: execute integration procedures, triage failures across software, avionics, mission systems and lab causes, write and drive discrepancy reports to closure, and run regression after each change.

• Hold configuration discipline. Maintain each rig’s configuration baseline with Configuration Management (LRU part and serial numbers, software and firmware loads, harness revisions, sim versions) and make sure every for-record run has a complete as-tested record.

• Capture data that holds up. Set up data recording and logging so results trace back to requirements and configuration. Build the scripts and tools that pull, check and summarize rig data for integration, qualification and flight-readiness reviews.

• Automate. Automate repetitive checkout, configuration capture and regression runs. Treat rig time as scarce: every manual hour removed is capacity returned to the program.

• Support capacity and planning. Provide rig-hour estimates, build and bring-up schedules, and long-lead material inputs for your rigs. Assess the rig changes each new hardware lot needs, and keep sustainment, spares and obsolescence plans current.

• Work safely and securely. Contribute to the lab hazard analysis and network and classified-lab accreditation for your rigs, and follow and improve the controls for hydraulics, high power, rotating machinery and classified operations.

• Raise the bar for the team. Write the procedures, checklists and lessons learned that let technicians and the next engineer work without you, and mentor technicians on troubleshooting and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical, computer, aerospace or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a similar technical fi
