Job description

About Fervo Energy

Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future.

Position Description

As a Product Lead, you will be a technical leader of the version-level execution under Fervo’s Powerblock Versioning Process. This versioning process fosters our execution philosophy across the Geoblock Factory organization as we plan to scale at accelerated rates over the next 5 years. You will drive the requirements, schedule, and cross-functional coordination needed to carry that scope from Preliminary Design Review through Critical Design Review and into order execution for a given version. As Fervo transitions from first-of-a-kind projects to scaling deployment of its plants, you will play a key role in driving standardization and efficiency improvements across projects, and in making sure Powerblock facilities requirements flow cleanly from the Powerblock team to Development, Resource, Drilling & Completions, Construction, Commissioning, Production, and Operations.

You will report to the Powerblock Technical Program Manager (TPM). You will act as the TPM’s counterpart for your assigned version(s), keeping the TPM informed of scope, schedule, and open decisions, and serving as the facilities point of contact for that version.

Responsibilities

Technical Execution

•
Build relationships and pathways for continued learning and improvements from previous version execution – Powerblock engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, Commissioning, Production, Operations to ensure improvements and lessons learned get incorporated into future versions appropriately.

•
Drive first-principles tradeoff analysis across the entire Powerblock facility to optimize system performance

•
Identify opportunities to simplify and accelerate designs while maintaining technical excellence

•
Inform and support procurement efforts, flagging opportunities for preferred agreements when beneficial and required by schedules

Version & Product Management

•
Own assigned Powerblock version end to end – from inputs at the Version Preliminary Design Review, through module/equipment PDR and CDR, to design freeze and Order Execution

•
Lead version-level Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, translating version-level requirements into equipment-level requirements for modules to progress

•
Participate in module/equipment-level PDRs and CDRs to be informed of design details to the given version

•
Ensure facilities requirements are continuously updated, disseminated, and flow cleanly from the Powerblock team to Development, Resource, Drilling & Completions, Construction, Commissioning, Production, and Operations

•
Track and report schedule, cost, and open/closed design decisions for facilities scope to the Technical Program Manager

•
Support takt-based procurement planning and RFPs for facilities equipment, and confirm procurement quantities against order execution

•
Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for any facilities-related design change after the version or template design freeze

•
Serve as the facilities point of contact for your assigned version, coordinating closely with the TPM and other module owners

Team and Culture

•
Demonstrate extreme ownership by taking responsibility for cost, safety, schedule, and constructability in addition to design

•
Work with urgency and resilience, embracing rapid iteration and maintaining high performance under pressure

•
Collaborate closely across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, reservoir, drilling, construction) as well as with external partners to drive integrated solutions

•
Contribute to a culture of technical excellence and accountability, modeling the values that define a world-class engineering team

Qualifications

Required

•
B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline

•
4+ years of experience in facilities engineering on large capital projects

•
Hands-on experience designing and executing upstream or power plant facilities, with exposure to start-up and field troubleshooting

•
Proven ability to execute design, analysis, and field support for complex processes within multidisciplinary project teams
