Job description
Join Axon and be a Force for Good.
At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Your Impact
As a Professional Services Manager, you are the operational engine behind Axon's fixed ALPR deployments. You will lead and support site installs across a national footprint, coordinating contractors, validating technical specs, troubleshooting in real time, and making sure agencies are ready from day one.
This is a post-sale, customer-facing, front-line role. You will work directly with permitting, vendor, and engineering teams to align buildouts with power, connectivity, and performance standards, and you will represent Axon's mission in every community we serve.
What You'll Do
Location: Remotely from the United States
Travel: Up to 90%
Reports to: Sr Manager, Professional Services
• Support ALPR deployments from pre-wire to full activation, including power prep, equipment setup, and field testing
• Conduct hands-on site validation and troubleshooting (110VAC and 12VDC)
• Interpret site drawings, power plans, and mounting guides to validate installation accuracy
• Coordinate and execute field commissioning tests with the customer
• Serve as Axon's on-site lead during installs, maintaining alignment with technical and safety standards
• Work with contractors, AHJs, and utility providers to clear barriers and ensure operational readiness
• Capture photos, logs, and field data to improve process performance and documentation
• Create accurate network diagrams and documentation to support design and planning of network communication systems
• Deliver timely, detailed project deployment reports
• Engage post-sale with technology decision makers and program managers, including Chiefs of Police, command staff, Sheriffs, and Directors of IT
• Train primary technical contacts and end users on the proper installation and use of Axon ALPR
• Help customers track their implementation lifecycle and apply the right customizations
• Escalate product irregularities and problems to Product Managers during site deployments
• Partner with project managers, permitting leads, and vendor coordinators to align site activities
• Communicate status, blockers, and feedback across tools such as Slack, Quip, Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Zoom
• Ensure installation milestones align with agency go-live timelines
• Lead complex and multi-site ALPR deployments from planning through go-live, owning schedule, installation quality, and agency readiness
• Serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point for field issues, site conditions, and installation questions across the Professional Services team
• Mentor and coach junior Professional Services Managers on installation standards, troubleshooting, safety practices, and customer engagement
• Cross-train other Axon deployment teams on ALPR installation standards, power validation, and field best practices so they can support ALPR deployments as needed
• Cross-train on other Axon hardware products to support their deployments as business needs require
• Uphold Axon's standards for craftsmanship, safety, and public representation
• Troubleshoot on the fly and adapt to changing site conditions without compromising quality
• Deliver consistent results in diverse jurisdictions and field environments
• Stay flexible as projects and priorities change
What You Bring
• 3-6 years in field operations, systems deployment, or infrastructure installation (public safety, telecom, or utilities preferred)
• Experience with electrical systems (110VAC and 12VDC), power troubleshooting, and structured cabling
• Working knowledge of IP-based Ethernet networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN concepts, with the ability to troubleshoot applications, computers, and networks
• Strong field coordination and contractor engagement skills
• Ability to train customer technical contacts and end users, and to communicate with senior public safety leaders
