Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in London, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth operation of our kitchen. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will support our culinary team by ensuring all equipment, utensils, and surfaces are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. The successful candidate will be efficient, professional, and committed to supporting the kitchen team in delivering excellent service to our customers.
Responsibilities:

• Load, operate, and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely, ensuring all items are cleaned to the required standard

• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials appropriately and safely, adhering to environmental and health regulations

• Stock and organise kitchen supplies and provisions, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained at all times

• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients

• Support the kitchen team during service periods, responding promptly and professionally to requests

• Maintain the kitchen environment to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation, including floors, walls, and storage areas

• Adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times, demonstrating a commitment to best practice

• Report any equipment faults, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor without delay

• Maintain personal hygiene standards and wear appropriate protective clothing as required

• Work collaboratively with all members of the kitchen team, demonstrating a supportive and inclusive approach

Qualifications
Proven experience working in a kitchen or hospitality environment (desirable)

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards

• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

• Excellent time keeping and reliability, with a professional approach to attendance

• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a supportive, collaborative team

• Good communication and people skills, with the ability to interact positively with colleagues

• Comfortable using commercial kitchen equipment and willing to learn new procedures

• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and develop within the role

• Ability to work independently and take initiative whilst maintaining attention to detail
