Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our team at our store in Leeming, United Kingdom.
In this permanent position, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining our store to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to creating a welcoming shopping experience for all our customers.
What you’ll do:

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering enquiries, and assisting with product selection

• Operate the till and payment systems accurately, handling cash and card transactions with precision

• Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are arranged neatly, clearly priced, and rotated according to stock rotation procedures

• Maintain store cleanliness and organisation, including tidying fitting rooms, aisles, and storage areas

• Support colleagues during busy periods and assist with visual merchandising to enhance product presentation

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management

• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues where necessary •

• Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times •

• Contribute to achieving sales targets through suggestive selling and product knowledge

Qualifications
• Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environment

• Proficiency with till systems and Point of Sale (POS) technology

• Strong communication and people skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Excellent organisational and time-keeping abilities

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift stock items

• Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays

• Desirable: Previous retail experience and product knowledge

• Desirable: Problem-solving abilities and initiative in identifying customer needs
