About the role:

We're building the next chapter: an agentic platform that understands operational context and takes action, with the ambition to make physical operations increasingly autonomous. External Platform EMEA owns critical capabilities behind that transition. Depending on the team, your work could include:

• Reporting and intelligence. Own the reporting engine and products that turn the complexity of a fleet into answers customers can act on.

• Enterprise administration. Build how customers configure and control Samsara at scale, from permissions and device metadata to AI-assisted onboarding.

• Developer and agent platform. Build APIs, event systems, integrations, and tools that give applications and AI agents access to operational data and actions.

• Business-critical infrastructure. Own billing, license assignment, and usage metering: systems central to how Samsara sells, delivers, and grows its products.

The long-term opportunity is rooted in the physical world. Deployed hardware, data generated at the edge, and years of operational expertise form a foundation that's hard to replicate. As AI advances, it expands what we can build on that foundation. This is a place to develop deep engineering expertise while helping shape a platform with years of ambitious work ahead.

AI is also central to how we build. We expect engineers to push tools like Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor throughout design, implementation, testing, and production investigations, taking on more ambitious work while owning the quality of what they ship.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Poland.

In this role, you will:

• Build foundational capabilities for Samsara’s agentic experiences, enabling AI agents to securely discover data, use tools, integrate with external systems, and execute reliable workflows at enterprise scale.

• Design systems for high throughput, availability, observability, security, and maintainability.

• Apply AI assistants, including Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor - across design, implementation, testing, debugging, and code review.

• Improve frameworks, tooling, and engineering practices that increase the effectiveness of teams across Samsara.

• Mentor other engineers and contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.

• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and improving production software.

• Proven end-to-end ownership of a product, substantial feature, or subsystem through design, implementation, launch, and iteration.

• Ability to take a clear customer or business challenge, independently choose a technical approach, and balance delivery speed, quality, and maintainability.

• Experience driving delivery with engineers and product or design partners, and helping teammates improve through reviews, technical feedback, or mentoring.

• Extensive practical use of AI across investigation, design, implementation, testing, and review, while owning the correctness and quality of the result.

An ideal candidate also has:

• Designing and operating public-facing REST or GraphQL APIs.

• High-throughput event-streaming platform.

• Building extensible integration or application frameworks.

• Distributed data-fetching, query execution, reporting, or analytical systems.

• Experience in any one of these areas is a plus. Exposure should come from production work.

• Reporting and data systems: Reporting products, analytics, query execution, data retrieval, or turning complex datasets into useful customer experiences.

• Enterprise administration: Permissions and access control, entity
