Job description
About One Acre Fund
Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. This is all made possible by our team of 9,000+ full-time staff, drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. To learn more, please see our Why Work Here blog post.
About the Role
This role independently manages assigned country and organisational design portfolios, including stakeholder communication and the delivery of farmer-facing materials, reports, newsletters and other design collateral. The role oversees multiple projects from conceptualisation through completion with minimal managerial supervision, reviews project needs and recommends effective design approaches, and ensures high-quality execution, adherence to brand standards, and delivery within agreed timelines. The role also identifies and contributes to improvements in design processes, templates and ways of working.

• Independently manage and deliver high-quality, creative and brand-aligned design work across assigned country and organisational portfolios.

• Review project briefs and recommend effective design approaches that respond to audience, communication and project needs.
• Ensure consistent quality, technical accuracy and appropriate adaptation across different materials, audiences and country contexts.

• Portfolio Management: Independently manage design portfolios for 2–3 countries.
• Serve as the primary Design team contact for assigned portfolios, managing stakeholder communication and aligning on briefs, deliverables, timelines and expectations.

• Independently prioritize and manage multiple projects, maintaining clear work plans and ensuring delivery within agreed timelines.
• Explain design decisions clearly, navigate feedback constructively and guide stakeholders towards effective design solutions.
• Proactively identify project risks, unclear requirements, competing priorities or potential delays, and communicate these early to relevant stakeholders and the manager.
• Identify and contribute to practical improvements to recurring design processes, templates, workflows, and stakeholders' ways of working.
